Position Summary:

Under supervision of the Bingo Manager, the Bingo Associate will be assigned Bingo Clerk (Floor Sales-POS Cashier). This cash handling assignment will be separately assigned in compliance with NIGC MICs standards and as scheduled. The Bingo Associate will also be assigned and serve as Bingo Caller; separate from the other functions during bingo sessions and as scheduled.

When functioning as Bingo Clerk (Runner/Cashier), the Bingo Associate is responsible for supplying and expediting bingo paper sales to guests as well as providing information on bingo games-promotions and other events either on the bingo floor or at POS (Point of Sale). Provides excelled service and gaming experience within Tesuque PROUD service standards to all guests.

When functioning as Bingo Caller, The Bingo Associate is responsible for serving as Bingo Host and Caller for Bingo Sessions and play. Greeting and engaging all incoming guests and players to each session, developing guest loyalty and ensuring a lively, engaged game experience with each session. Guides game sessions and play to include announcement and compliance of rules, schedules and promotions. Responsible to a high degree of accuracy; attention to detail and game integrity of Bingo letter/number callouts and verification of winners. Provides excelled service and gaming experience within Tesuque PROUD service standards to all guests.

NOTE: Native American preference will be given

General Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs all functions in accordance with applicable Tribal, Federal laws, gaming regulations and policies and procedures.
  • Ensures consistent high standards of guest service; promptly responds to guest needs.
  • Keeps players informed of upcoming events and changes in Bingo program.
  • Enthusiastically assists new players unfamiliar with Bingo gameplay.
  • Cleans assigned section(s) at end of each shift.
  • Attends and satisfactorily completes all required training as assigned and required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

(Bingo Clerk-Runner/Cashier) Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cash in assigned bank and balancing bank proceeds at beginning/end of each shift.
  • Expedites Bingo games and specials’ game card sales to Bingo players.
  • Maintains and is responsible for Bingo banks and specials’ paper.
  • Interacts and communicates with Bingo Caller to ensure winners are handled correctly.
  • Balances paper and cash count at the end of shift.
  • Receives and verifies Bingo game cards from secured Bingo Card Room.
  • Verifies all Bingo game winners with the Bingo caller via monitor.
  • Receives and verifies Bingo payouts from the Bingo paymaster and delivering cash winning to guest.
  • Responsible for returning all unsold games and cash to designated bank and location.

(Bingo Caller) Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Makes general announcements, reads the house rules before the start of every session.
  • Gives information concerning games to be played, special games, game schedules and starting times, prizes, featured prizes and bonus jackpots or any other matters of interest to bingo players or potential players, including upcoming and future events.
  • Ensures Bingo equipment to include console, video flashboards, monitors, microphones, bingo balls and printers are in good working condition before start of each session.
  • Verifies all Bingo game winners via computerized Bingo Game Control platform/software.
  • Interacts and communicates with Bingo Associates serving as Runner/Cashier to ensure winners are handled correctly.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or GED certificate preferred

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation
  • Must be able to hold gaming license.

Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:

  • Must possess a clear and articulate announcing voice and a personality that will command the interest and attention of audience of players and potential players.
  • Ability to work within a highly stressful environment while remaining calm and professional.
  • Experience in cash handling and gaming preferred but not
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
  • Proficient computer skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, bend for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen on a regular basis.

Ability to work for extended periods in an office under artificial fluorescent lighting with varying noise levels and in a smoke filled environment.

Work Environment:

Work is generally performed in an office and Casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level.  Evening and/or weekend work may be required as well as extended hours and irregular shifts.
